Tadej has been passionate about sports since he was a child. His first love was soccer, but in 2007, together with his older brother Tilen, he began cycling and immediately stood out. In 2008, he made his debut in an official race, and in 2009, he achieved his first victory on Mount Krvavec.
In the Junior and Under-23 categories, he attracted the attention of the most attentive coaches by winning the Giro della Lunigiana and, above all, the Tour de l'Avenir, demonstrating great aptitude for stage races.
In 2018, he made the big leap: he signed a contract with UAE Team Emirates . In 2019, he debuted on the World Tour circuit and immediately established himself as one of the best emerging talents: he won the Tour of California and three stages of the Vuelta a España, taking third place in the general classification.
In 2020, on his debut at the Tour de France , the most prestigious race in the world, Tadej achieved a historic feat. Starting as a simple domestique, he snatched the yellow jersey from Primož Roglič in the final time trial. He became the first rider to win three different jerseys in the same Tour (in addition to the general classification, he also won the mountaineers' and young riders' classifications) and the second-youngest winner ever, after Henri Cornet in 1904.

In 2021, Pogačar confirmed his extraordinary class and versatility, winning several stage races, such as the Tirreno-Adriatico , and two Monument classics: Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the Giro di Lombardia . At the Tour de France, he successfully defended his title: he dominated the race and, by winning five stages, repeated his hat-trick of jerseys from 2020. He also participated in the Tokyo Olympic Games , winning the bronze medal in the road race.
In the 2022 and 2023 Tours, Tadej twice had to surrender to Vingegaard, but fought until the end, making cycling fans around the world dream. However, he continued to enrich a glittering palmares, with triumphs in the 2022 Strade Bianche , the 2022 Tirreno-Adriatico , the 2023 Tour of Flanders , and the 2022 and 2023 Giro di Lombardia .
2024 is a triumphant year. Tadej begins the season by winning the Strade Bianche and Liège-Bastogne-Liège , then, in an extraordinary crescendo, he conquers the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France . He does so as a true "cannibal" (with 12 stage wins across the two Tours, surpassing Merckx, who stands at 11) and enters the very exclusive club of champions who have achieved this incredible double. A club that also includes seven legends: Fausto Coppi, Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault, Stephen Roche, Miguel Indurain, and Marco Pantani. And it's not over yet, because the champion also wins the 2024 Road World Championship in Zurich , with a breakaway of over 100 km.
2025 is off to a flying start: he's adding the Strade Bianche , the Tour of Flanders , and Liège-Bastogne-Liège to his incredible list of victories . In his seventh season as a professional, he's won nine Monuments , a feat only achieved in history by Girardendo, Coppi, and Sean Kelly. Two monsters are in his sights: Roger De Vlaeminck, with 11 victories, and Eddy Merckx, with a dizzying 19.
Tadej's dominance over the cycling world is then definitively sealed by winning his fourth Tour de France and a repeat World Championship (the first cyclist in history to win both in consecutive years), and finally, by also winning the European Road Championship .
Together with the entire UAE Emirates team, Pogačar has been benefiting from the advice of the Enervit Team since 2021 and has contributed to making the development of the Enervit C2:1PRO line possible .
