Born: April 12, 2000

Nadia Battocletti lives in Cavareno, in the province of Trento, in a sporty family: her father, Giuliano, now her coach, was a prominent marathon and middle-distance runner, and her mother, Jawhara Saddougui, was a strong 800-meter runner.

Nadia showed talent from a very young age, participating in local and regional competitions with excellent results. She began to gain national recognition in 2016, when she won the Italian title in the 3000 meters at the Italian Youth Championships. Since then, her career has continued to soar, and with dedication and passion, she has achieved an impressive series of victories and prestigious placings.

In 2019, Nadia won the Italian title in the 5,000 meters at the Italian National Championships and participated in the European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon, winning the gold medal in the Under-20 category. This result demonstrated her versatility and ability to compete at a high level in various middle-distance disciplines.
In the following years, she won the gold medal in the 5,000 meters at the European Under-23 Championships in Tallinn , with a time of 15:37.39 (a personal best of 14:58.73), and represented Italy at the Tokyo Olympic Games, achieving an honorable seventh place in the 5,000 meters, in a very high-level competition.

In 2022, she achieved her first Italian record in the 3,000 meters indoors with a time of 8:41.72, a record in the 5 km road race (15:13), and her fourth consecutive gold medal at the European Cross Country Championships.
In 2023, she made her debut in the 10,000 meters, immediately crowned by the Italian title, and broke the Italian record in both the 10,000 meters and the 5,000 meters.

In 2024 Nadia Battocletti became the first Italian athlete ever to win two gold medals in a European Athletics Championship , dominating first the 5,000 metres and then the 10,000 metres, in which she also achieved a new Italian record with a time of 30'51"32.

The 2025 World Athletics Championships saw her once again as a protagonist, with a Silver in the 10,000 m and Bronze in the 5,000 m!

Nadia has joined Pietro Mennea and Francesco Panetta in the very exclusive club of the only Italian athletes to have won two titles in one edition of the World Championships.
